The capacity of connections from small- and medium-scale renewable energy producers and self-consumption systems in Endesa’s grid subsidiary, e-distribución, has increased by 53% since 2020. The capacity of self-consumption installations has reached 3.9 GW, while that of producer installations exceeds 26.8 GW.

The recent ministerial order opens a competitive process to allocate 354 MW of capacity at the Narcea hub, ensuring social, environmental, and technological criteria to revitalize one of the areas most affected by the closure of the thermal power plant.

Its production increases by almost 11% in a record year for two reasons: it registers the highest renewable production and its largest share since records began. Solar photovoltaic surpasses combined cycle and moves into third place in the mix for the first time, in a year once again led by wind energy, with 23%. Forecasts indicate that demand in Spain is growing by nearly 1.6%, and the country ends the year with a net exporter balance for the third consecutive year.
