AIKO Energy an international photovoltaic product manufacturer, continues to consolidate its presence in Italy by offering high-efficiency technology and emphasizing performance and durability.

According to Federico Brunelli, Director of Solutions for Europe, 2024 sales exceeded all company expectations, and through strong partnerships with distributors, AIKO has gained significant traction in Italy.

“Considering our recent entry into the European market, the Italian market has positively responded to AIKO’s values. 2024 has been an intense year: we trained over 1,500 installers, laying a very optimistic foundation for 2025,” Brunelli stated in an interview with Energía Estratégica España.

Most Popular Products in Italy

AIKO Energy’s photovoltaic modules have captured attention in both residential and commercial sectors. One of the most sought-after products is the 54-cell module, designed for residential use, featuring a glass/backsheet configuration with a black frame.

“This module delivers maximum power, a premium aesthetic—surpassed only by fully black models—and is lighter than dual-glass options,” Brunelli explained.

For the commercial and industrial segments, the 72-cell dual-glass module with 650 Wp output is expected to be the top choice in 2025. Equipped with Partial Shade Optimization, this module provides advantages in performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency for large-scale projects.

Advances in Innovation and Strategic Goals

Innovation lies at the core of AIKO Energy’s strategy. At Intersolar, the company unveiled its third-generation modules, integrating busbar-free (0BB) technology to boost efficiency and provide a cleaner design.

“These modules set a new global standard for photovoltaic efficiency and will be available this year, alongside our second-generation modules as an alternative,” Brunelli added.

AIKO’s high-efficiency photovoltaic modules are designed with innovative features such as Partial Shade Optimization. Additionally, all modules are manufactured using N-type ABC back-contact cells, ensuring performance and durability.

In the short to medium term, AIKO Energy aims to expand its reach across Europe and strengthen its position as a leader in advanced photovoltaic solutions. “Our goal is to advance back-contact technology and continue supporting Europe’s energy transition with quality products,” Brunelli said.

Insights into Italy’s Photovoltaic Sector

Italy has seen significant growth in renewable energy, driven by government incentives and a growing focus on sustainability. According to Brunelli, Italy is a key player in photovoltaic investments, but achieving medium- and long-term goals will require greater efforts to expand installations nationwide.

“The Italian photovoltaic market, like the broader energy sector, is subject to fluctuations driven by economic conditions, incentives, and trends in other energy markets,” Brunelli emphasized.

Future Trends and Measures for the Sector

The future of Italy’s photovoltaic market will involve integrating complementary technologies such as energy storage, hydrogen, and wind power. Brunelli predicts increased photovoltaic projects in non-traditional areas, such as agrivoltaics, floating solar installations, and industrial zones. “In these contexts, technologies like Partial Shade Optimization will be critical to ensuring performance,” he stated.

Regarding policies needed to sustain growth, Brunelli highlighted the importance of stable, long-term energy incentives. “Short-term incentives can be harmful, especially for experienced companies. It’s crucial to reward those who deliver real value with high-quality installations,” he concluded.
