3E projects growth in photovoltaics, energy storage, and international markets by 2025

3E is betting on photovoltaic projects, hybridization with wind, and standalone storage, driven by the recent construction permits in Spain. Additionally, the company plans to expand internationally, with particular interest in Latin America and new technologies such as green hydrogen, although the latter still requires technical and economic advancements.

3E proyecta crecimiento en fotovoltaica, almacenamiento y mercados internacionales hacia 2025

The firm 3E, specialized in technical advisory services for renewable energy, projects significant growth in the coming years, mainly in photovoltaics and energy storage.

This is expressed by Patricio Peral, Business Development Manager for Iberia and Latin America at the company, who highlights that the publication of permits for 25 GW of photovoltaics and 3 GW of wind power before the construction milestone on July 25 has triggered a new stage of development in the Spanish market.

“This milestone marks a turning point for developers and project owners, who can now move forward with the construction of their facilities,” he says in an interview with Energía Estratégica España.

The executive also notes that this decision has generated an increase in the demand for detailed engineering services, project supervision, and the search for EPC contractors, with 3E playing a key role in this process.

In this way, Peral emphasizes that photovoltaics remains the dominant technology, driven by the regulatory framework of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which sets 57 GW by 2030.

However, he observes that there is “a clear trend toward hybridization, not only of photovoltaics with wind, but also of projects that integrate storage systems.”

The growing interest in standalone storage projects is evidenced by the increasing number of companies betting on this model, with over 10 GW of connection points requested in Red Eléctrica, compared to a target of 12 GW proposed in the new PNIEC.

In this regard, Peral believes that “this doesn’t mean that all of them will come through, but from here to 2030, more projects may emerge, and I believe that the future is positive.”

Finally, the executive anticipated that 2025 will be a better year than 2024, based on the current market dynamism and growth expectations in key sectors like photovoltaics, storage, and hybridization.

The rise of internationalization

For his part, Peral identifies a trend towards internationalization among Spanish companies in the sector: “Many firms are starting to expand their operations into other markets, and we, with our global presence, have noticed a growing demand for consulting services in countries outside of Spain.”

With more than 25 years of experience, 3E has consolidated itself as a relevant player in the technical consulting field, operating in multiple markets.

3E is also betting on the internationalization of its services and highlights that they have an active presence in international markets, including Latin America. He points out that there is a growing demand for their services in the region, which is part of the company’s global expansion strategy.

Beyond this expansion, the firm remains medium-sized, which allows it to better adapt to the needs of its clients.

Additionally, 3E has embraced digitalization, managing more than 25 GW through its digital platform, complementing its engineering and consulting services.
