The state-owned company YPF Luz inaugurated the CASA Wind Farm, a renewable self-generation project located in Olavarría at the industrial plant operated by Cementos Avellaneda. The facility has an installed capacity of 63 MW and requires an investment of USD 80 million.

The wind farm is composed of nine Nordex Delta 4000 wind turbines, each with an individual capacity of 7 MW and a total height of approximately 200 metres.

Of the total installed capacity, four turbines (28 MW) are allocated to supply electricity for self-consumption at the Cementos Avellaneda plant, while the remaining five turbines (35 MW) will deliver renewable energy to YPF Luz’s industrial clients through Argentina’s Wholesale Term Market (Mercado a Término), which enables bilateral power purchase agreements (PPAs).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Laura Delgado, Undersecretary of Mining of Buenos Aires Province; Maximiliano Wesner, Mayor of Olavarría; Martín Mandarano, Chief Executive Officer of YPF Luz; and José Luis Maestri, Chief Executive Officer of Cementos Avellaneda.

“The inauguration of the CASA Wind Farm reflects our commitment to expanding the country’s energy mix. This development, carried out in close collaboration with Cementos Avellaneda, demonstrates how YPF Luz adapts to the specific needs of our clients with efficient supply solutions,” said Martín Mandarano.

“The commissioning of this project fills us with pride. It represents another step forward in fulfilling our purpose: to drive responsible progress in society by developing innovative construction solutions with proximity and sustainability,” stated José Luis Maestri.

“This development strengthens our commitment to continuing to reduce our environmental footprint, in line with our roadmap to achieve our 2030 decarbonisation targets,” he added.

With this inauguration, YPF Luz reaches a total installed capacity of 3.5 GW, of which 819 MW correspond to renewable energy. During 2026, the company will continue the construction of major projects such as the El Quemado Solar Park in Mendoza Province and a battery energy storage project in Greater Buenos Aires.
