Strategic Energy is reporting live from Spain at the International Week of Electrification and Decarbonization, held during the GENERA and MATELEC fairs at IFEMA MADRID, with exclusive on-site coverage.

On the opening day, this news outlet conducted an exclusive interview with Javier Recalde, Marketing Manager, and Andrés Jiménez, CEO at Factiun—a company formed by professionals with more than 20 years of experience and 20 GW of solar capacity installed worldwide. After closing its first year with more than 500 MW executed, the firm now aims to establish itself among the Top 5 global solar tracker manufacturers.

  • What motivated the creation of Factiun?

Andrés Jiménez: “Factiun was born from a team with many years of experience in photovoltaic structures, especially solar trackers and fixed structures.”

  • When was it founded?

Jiménez: “In 2024, we decided to begin this new stage to leverage all the accumulated know-how and improve aspects we identified as opportunities within existing products.

We focused on solar trackers because we understand the market, have the expertise, and knew we could develop something truly innovative.”

  • How many employees does the company currently have?

Jiménez: “We have moren than 40 direct employees, plus external suppliers.”

  • What differentiated value did you aim to offer?

Javier Recalde: “One of our main differentiators is technical support throughout all project phases. Customers don’t just receive a product—our team is present from the first contact to commissioning. That makes a significant difference in this sector.”

  • Like any company in the sector, you must have ambitious goals…

Recalde: “Yes. Our goal is clear: to enter the global Top 5 of tracker manufacturers. In 2025, we will close with more than 500 MW executed in countries such as Spain, Italy, Peru, Tunisia and the Solomon Islands.”

  • And what are your projections for 2026?

Recalde: “We want to double that figure.”

Jiménez: “We are prepared to execute both utility-scale projects and smaller initiatives. We are competitive on costs and aligned with market prices, which allows us to access more opportunities.”

  • How competitive are you?

Jiménez: “We developed proprietary software that improves on-site planning and execution. It defines exactly which post goes where, the alignment pattern, and how to avoid shading. This optimizes time and resources and reduces installation errors.

In addition, we provide full EPC-adjacent assembly services, enhancing our value proposition by integrating engineering, execution, supply chain and after-sales service—fully adapted to each client’s needs.”

Recalde: “We operate in Europe and Latin America without focusing on a single country. Our strategy is global, which requires operational adaptability to different markets.”

  • Where do you manufacture?

Jiménez: “We can manufacture in Spain, Türkiye, China and India. Depending on the project, we determine the optimal production location based on lead times, costs and technical requirements. Most importantly, we have no capacity limits because we produce on demand.”

  • How is the market responding to your proposal?

Jiménez: “In initial meetings, we present both the product and software, but above all, we explain how we support customers throughout the entire project cycle. We can work anywhere in the world, on any terrain, with flexible options adapted to each country.”

Recalde: “Innovation and developing a high-performance solar tracker are our priorities. We know how the market works, we master the technology, and we have hands-on product experience. That is where we are placing most of our efforts.

There are three key aspects: the team’s experience, our more than 20 years in the industry, and over 20 GW installed globally.

Factiun may be a newer brand, but the market already knows us. They know who we are, that we prioritise customer support throughout all phases—logistics, construction, and contingency management—so the client feels supported at all times.”

  • Which countries look most attractive for 2026?

Recalde: “We have projects in Europe and Latin America. We do not concentrate all efforts on a single market; we can work anywhere and on any type of terrain. We analyse every project in detail from start to finish, which allows us to undertake large-scale developments while also addressing smaller ones.”

Jiménez: “And we are aligned with global market prices. We can compete on cost with any player.”

With this approach, Factiun aims to reshape the solar industry through a model combining proprietary technology, distributed manufacturing capacity and a strong commitment to customer proximity. The first step toward entering the global Top 5 is already underway. With active presence in France, Germany and Poland, and opportunities under evaluation in Colombia, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, the company continues strengthening its international expansion.
