Solar Steel, a leading company in the design and supply of solar trackers and fixed structures, announces the launch of TracSmarT+2P, the latest evolution of its solar tracking technology, developed to meet current and emerging needs of the photovoltaic sector.

The new 2P single-row solar tracker, available in 1-string and 2-string configurations (up to 41 meters per row), combines the proven reliability and robustness of Solar Steel’s compact design with enhanced adaptability for utility-scale and distributed PV projects. The solution has been engineered to deliver structural safety, operational stability, and high energy performance, while adapting to a wide range of terrains and plant layouts.

Key Features

Component standardisation across configurations. TracSmarT+2P features an optimised design with a reduced number of shared components across both configurations, simplifying logistics, spare parts management, and maintenance operations. The same bolting system and structural components are used in both versions, with dampers required only for the 2-string configuration.

Advanced safety and performance under extreme weather conditions. The tracker has been designed to provide high resistance to adverse weather events, including strong winds, heavy rainfall, and hail. Its structural robustness allows the system to adjust its orientation to maximise solar capture while protecting the installation, ensuring stable energy production and overall system reliability.

Simple, efficient design. Simplicity is a core principle behind TracSmarT+2P. By reducing the number of components, the system enables fast and efficient installation, minimises the risk of mechanical failures, lowers operation and maintenance costs, and increases overall system durability.

High adaptability to complex layouts. The combination of 1-string and 2-string configurations allows developers to optimize PV plant designs on uneven terrain or sites with complex geometries. This flexibility maximises land use and significantly reduces earthworks, improving both technical feasibility and project economics.

A versatile solution for multiple applications. While the 2-string configuration (and combination of two) is expected to dominate new utility-scale projects currently under development, Solar Steel also offers the 1-string version, previously known as “Compact”. This option is particularly well-suited for small-scale projects, irrigation systems, and agricultural applications.

In addition, TracSmarT+2P incorporates the design developed for AgriPV by Solar Steel, fully compliant with agrivoltaic regulations already in force across several European countries. The system offers adjustable ground clearance of up to 1.3 meters, enabling its use in advanced agricultural and livestock applications without compromising energy performance.

With the development of TracSmarT+2P, Solar Steel strengthens its leadership position in the solar industry, expanding its project portfolio and delivering solutions tailored to the specific needs of each customer and market.
