Solplanet has obtained Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification for three of its commercial and industrial (C&I) inverter series. Certified by EPD International, this milestone underscores Solplanet’s dedication to sustainability and provides commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, municipalities, and stakeholders with transparent and verified environmental performance data, in line with the growing demand for eco-certified solutions in the Iberian region and the rest of Europe.
The certification applies to the ASW LT-G3 (25-40 kW), ASW LT-G3 (45-60 kW), and ASW LT (80-110 kW) series, marking an important step in providing customers with independently verified environmental performance data. EPD certification, based on a life cycle assessment (LCA), evaluates the environmental impact of products from raw material extraction to production and beyond. Mandatory for solar modules and not yet a compliance criterion for solar inverters, increasing regulatory requirements in the Iberian market make it a critical factor in project approvals, especially for ESG-driven municipal and C&I installations.
EPD certification is relevant in European countries, where municipalities often impose strict sustainability requirements on photovoltaic projects. With this certification, installers and EPCs can more easily comply with regulatory demands and increase their chances of winning C&I solar projects. EPD also helps stakeholders accurately assess and monitor the carbon footprint of their installations. Iñaki Pacha, Country Manager of Solplanet Iberia, states: “This EPD certification underscores our commitment to transparency and our desire to offer smart energy solutions that contribute to the implementation of sustainable concepts. This certification, which is especially relevant for commercial and industrial clients, as well as municipalities, will not only facilitate the implementation of sustainable initiatives but will also simplify project approval processes by ensuring compliance with strict regulatory frameworks.”
With EPD certification, installers and EPCs in Iberia can increase their chances of winning commercial and industrial solar projects, as sustainability and carbon footprint considerations play an increasingly important role in procurement decisions. Solplanet EPD-certified inverters strengthen clients’ ability to meet strict sustainability goals and confidently secure government and corporate projects.
Rico Guo, Vice President of International Sales at Solplanet/Aiswei: “This certification marks an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and transparency. The countries in the Southern European region represent a key market for Solplanet, and we remain dedicated to equipping our customers with certified solutions that support their transition to efficient and environmentally responsible energy systems. By providing verified environmental data, we empower residential, commercial, and municipal stakeholders to make informed decisions that drive long-term sustainability.”
With the addition of EPD-certified inverters to its portfolio, Solplanet strengthens its position as a trusted partner for green solar projects, reinforcing its vision of making solar energy accessible, efficient, and truly sustainable for all.
