Solax Power is a company dedicated to the production and sale of solar inverters and energy storage solutions, with a presence in diverse markets such as China, Europe, and the United States, and sales in more than 80 countries.

The company aims to continue growing and position itself among the top 5 manufacturers next year by focusing on product innovation. This was confirmed by Rodrigo Ruiz, PV & BESS Sales Director (Iberia), in an interview with Energía Estratégica España.

“We aim to increase our market share and position ourselves among the top 5 manufacturers next year and in the top 3 by 2026. These are our growth expectations,” said Ruiz, emphasizing the company’s commitment to constant innovation in photovoltaic and storage solutions.

“We are a manufacturer highly focused on innovation in the sector, with a broad range of products. We’ve been launching solutions, especially off-grid or with storage. Innovation is at the heart of our operations, and we aim to offer technologies with extra features and functionalities,” he added.

Solutions

The company offers solar inverters for residential, commercial, and industrial segments with various power ratings, microinverters, and energy storage solutions. Additionally, it manufactures electric vehicle chargers and additional accessories for energy management, all produced in its facilities.

Ruiz highlighted that the equipment is suitable for both grid-connected and off-grid storage applications. “This is achieved by ensuring that the emergency power output has full functionality characteristics as if connected to the grid. The equipment self-configures to generate the alternating current network and operate under any conditions,” he explained.

“We offer hybrid inverters for both residential and commercial applications, with a wide range of high-power products in this version, which can be paired with a generous battery configuration. And, as we’ve emphasized, all our hybrids can operate off-grid in isolated installations, either with solar power alone or solar combined with batteries,” the executive elaborated.

He stressed that the diversification of products and solutions allows them to create complex systems, enabling parallel operation and simultaneous use of different equipment to meet customer needs.

In this regard, Solax Power is committed to launching new products. In 2024 alone, the company has introduced new utility accessories, next-generation hybrid inverters with features for higher-performance panels, microinverters, new-generation EV chargers, all-in-one C&I BESS solutions, an upgraded cloud management system, and a platform for Virtual Power Plants (VPPs).

In December, the company plans to launch a high-voltage AC 800V solution for utility-scale projects exceeding 20 MW, designed to operate with alternating current.

Additionally, Ruiz noted that a fully certified all-in-one storage solution for commercial and industrial applications is now ready for the Spanish and Portuguese markets and is available for sale and installation.

“This product is currently the most sought after by experts and installers who are successfully advancing projects. While some segments face difficulties in closing agreements or sales, the commercial and industrial sector shows significant activity and interest in these products,” Ruiz explained.

“We are positioned in both DC-coupled and AC-coupled product ranges. That is, solutions for new installations or even retrofitting photovoltaic installations without storage. Within these products, we also offer air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems, depending on the installation location or the desired performance,” he added.

Market Analysis

Ruiz analyzed the market in an interview with the portal, stating that 2024 is a year to “reflect” on the industry, regulations, and conditions necessary to stabilize it.

“We see that the maturity of photovoltaic markets at the international level is very uneven. Some countries are in the early stages of development, while others are more advanced. However, what is not developed is unified international regulation. Each country has its own conditions, incentives, and approaches, but there’s no unified regulation to provide market stability,” he said.

He emphasized that the sector lacks specific political and socioeconomic incentives amid the international context but cannot rely solely on subsidies. “Subsidies can help regulate or guide certain activities, but they cannot and should not be the main driver of growth,” he stated.

Ruiz also highlighted demand electrification as one of the key aspects of Spain’s electrical system to increase electricity consumption, making investments more attractive without relying on incentives but on private investments.

“Demand electrification is already a reality. It’s a process we are immersed in, but it’s not progressing as steadily or adequately as expected. By 2030, we should achieve a much higher level of demand electrification than we are currently on track to reach,” he emphasized.

Despite challenges and barriers, Ruiz assured that Solax Power has “established the brand” this year and that 2024 will serve as a “springboard” for greater sales in 2025.

Regarding next year’s expectations, Ruiz predicted that 2025 would be similar to 2024, with slight growth.

“The reality is that those best prepared to offer flexible storage and a wide range of products for the commercial and industrial market will emerge much stronger next year. We have prepared a comprehensive service team and are building momentum to support our collaborators and clients,” he concluded.
