As rooftop solar PV deployment gathers pace in Chile and Argentina, S-5!, a global leader in mounting solutions for metal roofs and single-ply membrane systems, will participate in the inaugural edition of RE+ South America, taking place on 25–26 March in Santiago.

The company will showcase its rail-less solar attachment technology and engineered snow retention systems, targeting the rapidly expanding distributed generation and commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy markets in the region.

On 25 March at 12:30 (local time), at “El Teatro” on the exhibition floor, Erick de la Rosa and Salvador Barba of S-5! will jointly deliver the session “ROI in Solar PV Installations on Metal Roofs and Best Practices.” The presentation will be open to all attendees free of charge.

The session will explore the latest advances in solar mounting technology and outline best practices to maximise return on investment (ROI) in rail-less photovoltaic (PV) systems. Particular emphasis will be placed on safeguarding roof lifespan, structural integrity and manufacturer warranties—critical considerations for asset owners, EPC contractors and developers seeking to optimise long-term performance and levelised cost of electricity (LCOE).

The full conference programme is available at: https://www.replusconosur.com/programa/

Attendees are invited to visit Stand C100 to learn more about PVKIT®, described by the company as the world’s first rail-less solar mounting system designed to secure PV modules directly to metal roofing.

S-5! project in South America: The Santa María building at the Universidad Católica Argentina features a 170 kW solar PV system efficiently integrated onto its curved metal roof using S-5!’s rail-less PVKIT mounting solution, generating clean electricity, preserving its iconic riverfront architecture and establishing a new sustainability benchmark for universities in Argentina.

The solution is engineered to:

  • Reduce balance-of-system (BOS) material costs

  • Shorten installation timelines

  • Eliminate roof penetrations

  • Improve long-term mechanical performance

According to the company, PVKIT® has gained increasing adoption across Latin America due to its simplified design, durability and suitability for large-scale rooftop solar installations.

A recent project in South America highlights this expansion strategy. The Santa María building at the Universidad Católica Argentina features a 170 kW rooftop solar PV system integrated onto its curved metal roof using S-5!’s rail-less PVKIT solution.

The installation generates clean electricity while preserving the building’s distinctive riverfront architecture. The project sets a new benchmark for sustainability in Argentina’s higher education sector and demonstrates the technical viability of non-penetrative mounting systems in architecturally sensitive environments.

Beyond its solar attachment portfolio, S-5! will also introduce its engineered snow retention systems to the Chilean and Argentine markets. With successful installations already completed in the region, these systems are designed to mitigate risks associated with rooftop snow slides, protecting building occupants, equipment and long-term roofing investments in cold-climate areas.

As climate variability increases, integrated snow management solutions are becoming increasingly relevant for commercial and industrial facilities investing in rooftop solar PV.

“We are pleased to participate in the first edition of RE+ South America and to support the growth of the solar and metal roofing sectors in the region,” said Juan Carlos Fuentes, International Business Director at S-5!.

“Chile and Argentina represent key and evolving markets for durable, long-term solar and snow retention solutions. With established distribution partners already serving projects in Argentina and across the Southern Cone, we look forward to strengthening relationships and contributing to the region’s continued renewable energy expansion.”
