The passage of the Isolated Depression at High Levels (DANA) through Spain has caused significant disruptions across multiple sectors, including renewable energy. Recent torrential rains and flooding have damaged areas, particularly in the Valencian Community and other regions affected by this phenomenon in recent hours, such as Aragón, Catalonia, and Castilla-La Mancha.
In Valencia, the floods and hailstorms have inflicted severe damage on land and infrastructure. The losses in the energy sector have yet to be fully assessed, according to reports from Energía Estratégica España.
The team from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, including former Minister Teresa Ribera and Energy Secretary Sara Aagesen, visited the AEMET facilities to closely monitor the developments of this phenomenon.
