The next edition of the Strategic Energy Virtual Summit will take place on Wednesday, 8 April. The event will bring together top-level industry leaders in a streaming format to address the sector’s main challenges and opportunities.
The broadcast will be available live via Strategic Energy’s official YouTube channel, consolidating a technical discussion platform accessible across the region.
With four panel discussions and a featured keynote conversation, the agenda focuses on the key factors currently shaping decision-making in project development. Leading companies such as 360Energy, JA Solar, Longi, Black & Veatch, Ventus, Sungrow, SolaX Power, Solis, Sigenergy, NextPower, S-5!, Antai, PVH, APsystems and CELTEC—key players in the market’s evolution—will participate.
The day will open with a keynote conversation featuring Federico Sbarbi Osuna, CEO of 360Energy, who will provide a strategic perspective on the current landscape and future outlook of the regional energy business.
Regarding the panels, the session “Trends in solar PV projects amid opportunities in tenders and power purchase agreements (PPAs)” will address the main developments shaping renewable energy projects in the region, focusing on opportunities emerging in markets where private PPAs coexist with public auction schemes.
Experts will discuss how contracting models are evolving and how these changes are driving new strategies in engineering, project development and technology adoption. They will also examine pricing outlooks in the current global energy market and the role of technological innovation in enhancing project competitiveness.
The streaming will continue with the panel entitled “Utility-scale storage: how to identify the best system for hybrid solar PV and wind projects”, aiming to replicate the type of discussions currently taking place between energy companies and storage system manufacturers when selecting technology for a project.
Drawing on the experience of companies developing battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions, the panel will analyse the aspects that utilities and developers prioritise when evaluating battery integration into hybrid solar and wind projects. Key topics include technology bankability, the importance of financing, system reliability and durability, as well as warranties and technical support required by energy companies working with technologies that, in many cases, are being adopted for the first time.
The broadcast will be available live via Strategic Energy’s official YouTube channel, reinforcing its role as an accessible technical discussion platform for the entire region.
Likewise, the panel “Trackers and fixed structures: emerging technologies demanded by solar PV projects” will examine the evolution of solutions that directly impact plant efficiency and competitiveness.
Experts will discuss which project profiles are best suited to each technology, how variables such as solar resource, topography, capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational strategy influence decisions, and where innovation is currently taking place in design, engineering and manufacturing. The discussion will also address how the increasing integration of energy storage systems is reshaping solar plant design and the implications for structures and trackers, among other aspects.
Finally, the panel “Utility, commercial and industrial storage: specific needs for large energy consumers” will focus on demand-side characteristics and strategies to optimise costs and reliability.
In addition, the session will address differences in technical and commercial requirements between utility-scale projects and commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, the main questions arising during BESS evaluation and procurement processes, and how manufacturers are adapting their technological and commercial strategies to meet the needs of high-consumption clients seeking to optimise costs, improve energy management and advance their energy transition goals.
The event takes place in a context of sustained expansion in Latin America. During 2025, generation capacity grew by 7% year-on-year, with 68% of newly installed capacity coming from clean sources. Within this growth, solar PV and wind power accounted for 61% of additions, with a 19% increase in their combined generation.
At the same time, energy storage is beginning to scale rapidly. The region reached 1.7 GW of installed capacity by the end of 2025, with projections pointing to growth up to 24 GW by 2030 and 46 GW by 2035, driving multi-billion-dollar investments and greater technological sophistication in power systems.
The Strategic Energy Virtual Summit will once again position itself as one of the key streaming events where C-level executives, manufacturers, developers and strategic suppliers converge, enabling critical insights for advancing new projects and agreements supporting the region’s energy transition.
The broadcast will be available live via Strategic Energy’s official YouTube channel, consolidating a technical discussion platform accessible across the region.
