Latin American insight reaches FES Iberia with collaborative proposals to enhance renewable project execution

As part of FES Iberia 2025, organised by Future Energy Summit, Latin American participants will not only seek to open new commercial opportunities, but also to share practical approaches that can contribute value to the execution of complex energy projects.

One of the highlighted proposals comes from Diprem Global, a technical services firm attending the summit with the expectation of offering a perspective grounded in agile problem-solving, cultural adaptability, and comprehensive project management across diverse territories.

“We’re used to solving problems with whatever is available, always considering multiple possible solutions. That way of working can be useful in projects that require immediate responses,” states Ricardo Aguirre, Director of Operations for Iberia and LATAM.

In conversation with Strategic Energy Europe, Aguirre highlights that one of the region’s key contributions is its expertise in global supply chain management, which he considers strategic for expediting project timelines in an increasingly demanding European context.

With operational presence in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, the United States and Canada, and a newly established subsidiary in Spain, Diprem is also looking to expand into Portugal and Italy.

Among its main strengths, the company points to its deep knowledge of environmental management, regulatory permits, and local legal frameworks, as well as its training programmes in technical safety and risk prevention.

Diprem has already established working relationships with companies such as Engie and PSK

Its participation in FES Iberia, to be held on 24 June in Madrid, aims to continue building bridges within the sector. “These kinds of meetings allow us to speak directly with decision-making companies. We experienced that in the previous edition, and that’s why we’re coming back,” Aguirre affirms.

With more than 20 years of experience across Latin America, the company has developed logistics, permitting and operational safety tools that it believes can be adapted to Europe’s current challenges—particularly in Spain, where administrative procedures vary by autonomous community.

“We feel comfortable working in diverse environments, because in Latin American countries, each province has its own logic. We apply that same approach to move forward in Spain’s different autonomous communities,” he explains.

One particular area where the firm sees strong potential to add value in Europe is energy storage. “Spain is facing a significant challenge with storage. For us in Latin America, it’s also an important area of development. The logistical support we can offer might be a meaningful contribution to local growth,” says Aguirre.

In this regard, Diprem advocates for promoting local production and assembly models, especially for storage, photovoltaic and hybrid projects.

FES Iberia 2025 will be held at the Colegio de Caminos, Auditorio Betancourt in Madrid, bringing together over 400 public and private sector energy executives

This edition will strategically address topics such as storage, PPAs, green hydrogen, solar and wind energy, and financing models, with key figures including Julio Castro, CEO of Iberdrola Renovables; Rocío Sicre, General Manager of EDP Renewables; Rafael Esteban, Global Head of Business Development at Acciona; Enrique Pedrosa, COO Europe & LATAM at Repsol Low Carbon Generation; and Carlos Píñar Celestino, Managing Director of Elmya, among others.

The event will also feature a dedicated panel on Latin America, exploring regulatory opportunities and expansion strategies with representatives such as Víctor Hugo Ventura, Minister of Energy of Guatemala; Edward Veras, Director of the National Energy Commission of the Dominican Republic; Dimas Carranza, Head of Regulation at Energuate; Alfonso Rodríguez, CEO of Soventix Caribbean; and Ximena Castro Leal, Commercial Manager at Diprem.

The agenda includes panels on the role of storage as a resilience vector, innovative construction in renewables, strategic visions from major players within Europe’s evolving energy system, and the technological integration challenges ahead. Key topics will include market mechanisms, auction development, demand electrification, operational efficiency, price cannibalisation, and BESS regulation.
