Today, from 11:00 (Argentina time), the free live-streamed event “Renewable Energy in Argentina: Opportunities in the New Investment Landscape” will take place, organised by Energía Estratégica.

The event brings together top-level executives from leading companies in power generation, project development, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), manufacturing and technological innovation. They will analyse in depth the new regulatory framework and the opportunities opening up for the sector as Argentina advances towards a structural transformation of its energy system.

The current model promotes bilateral contracts through the Wholesale Term Market (Mercado a Término, MAT) as the central mechanism driving new renewable energy investment and long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).

The virtual session will feature Cristhian Romero, Business Development Manager LatAm at Gonvarri Solar Steel; Federico Garín, CEO of Solar DQD; Lucas Estrada, President of EPSE San Juan; Gabriela Guzzo, Commercial Manager at Genneia; and Marcos Donzino, Head of Sales South LatAm at JA Solar.

The core focus of the debate will be identifying concrete synergies between companies already actively operating in the country and covering different stages of the renewable energy value chain.

From the industrial side, Gonvarri Solar Steel is deepening its expansion strategy in Argentina as part of its regional growth plan. With more than 30 GW of solar trackers delivered worldwide — 8 GW in Latin America — the company aims to consolidate partnerships with developers and EPC firms from early project stages, targeting strategic agreements through 2026.

Among its latest innovations is the TracSmarT+2P tracker, a solution that broadens the technical options available to adapt to local terrain and plant designs, reinforcing efficiency and structural robustness in utility-scale solar PV developments.

Within this ecosystem, Solar DQD positions itself as a key partner. The company is currently executing more than 1,200 MW of solar capacity as an EPC contractor in Argentina, building two of the country’s three largest solar parks, and aims to reach 400 MW of awarded capacity under its own portfolio by 2026. It is also integrating 15 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS), strengthening grid integration and project bankability.

Among its flagship projects is El Quemado, developed by YPF Luz, which is currently 60% complete and has 100 MW close to commercial operation.

From the public sector, EPSE San Juan is consolidating a solar hub that integrates electrical infrastructure, technology manufacturing and project development. The company is leading the construction of a new 180 MW transmission line, a critical asset to enable additional renewable energy projects in the province.

In addition, over the coming months, it will commission its solar panel manufacturing plant, with an estimated annual production capacity of between 450 and 500 MW, while continuing to develop more than 350 MW in Tocota, an area with high solar resource potential.

The sector’s broader perspective is completed by Genneia, which is advancing towards surpassing 2 GW of installed renewable capacity by the first half of 2026. The company also leads in green finance, having issued more than USD 1.28 billion in green bonds, and is developing projects linked to energy storage, transmission infrastructure and supply for large consumers such as data centres.

For its part, JA Solar — one of the world’s top three photovoltaic manufacturers — contributes its vision in both solar generation and energy storage. The company is showcasing its integrated PV + BESS solutions, combining high-efficiency TOPCon modules with 5 MWh containerised batteries tailored for utility-scale projects.

In this context, today’s live stream becomes a strategic platform to understand how leading companies in the sector are aligning with Argentina’s new regulatory framework and to explore concrete collaboration opportunities that will drive renewable energy investment and accelerate the country’s energy transition.
