Growatt has introduced the HOPE 16.0LM-A1, its latest energy storage solution developed specifically to meet the needs of the Latin American market, where power continuity, rising electricity costs and grid quality issues remain recurring challenges for households and the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
The launch of the HOPE 16.0LM reinforces the company’s regional strategy, supported by its strong performance in the inverter segment. According to S&P Global Commodity Insights, Growatt ranked No. 1 in Mexico’s residential inverter market and was also recognised as the world’s leading supplier of residential inverters in 2024.
A direct response to regional challenges
Across many Latin American countries, demand for energy storage is accelerating due to three main factors:
-
The need for backup power in the event of outages and voltage fluctuations.
-
Optimisation of solar self-consumption and improved use of available energy.
-
Energy cost management, including peak demand charges, time-of-use tariffs and continuous operation requirements in commercial and industrial facilities.
Against this backdrop, the HOPE 16.0LM-A1 positions itself as a compact, scalable storage platform, designed for efficient installation. It is aimed at reducing on-site commissioning times and facilitating integration into both new and existing projects.
Compact design with an “installer-centric” approach
Growatt highlights an architecture designed for real-world installation environments:
-
Compact form factor suitable for space-constrained locations such as technical rooms, small warehouses and service areas.
-
Simplified installation, enabling faster deployment and standardised processes.
-
Integrated touchscreen interface, improving local operation and real-time system status visualisation.
This approach responds to a clear market demand for solutions that can be deployed quickly, with lower complexity and an intuitive user experience.
Scalability from 16 kWh to 768 kWh
The HOPE 16.0LM-A1 offers capacity flexibility ranging from 16 kWh up to 768 kWh, enabling applications from residential systems to larger C&I projects, while maintaining high performance and safety standards.
This wide configuration range supports phased growth strategies, allowing projects to start with a base capacity and expand storage as demand increases or as the solar PV system is scaled up.
In terms of performance, the HOPE 16.0LM-A1 combines high energy density with strong efficiency, maximising usable energy per installed kilowatt-hour and ensuring a stable power supply for critical loads. The system also includes remote monitoring, diagnostics and software update capabilities, optimising operation, reducing the need for on-site interventions and simplifying the management of distributed energy storage projects across the region.
Lisa Zhang, Vice President of Growatt, stated:
“Energy storage is becoming a key pillar of the energy transition, especially in Latin America, where renewable energy adoption is growing rapidly and the need for grid stability is increasingly critical. With the HOPE battery, we reaffirm our commitment to the Latin American market. We have strong confidence in the growth of energy storage in the region and will continue to deliver safe, efficient solutions tailored to local conditions.”
