Grenergy has unveiled its new 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, marking a turning point by focusing on solar + storage hybrid models and the development of its new standalone battery platform, Greenbox. The company will be one of the key participants at FES Iberia 2025, the leading Ibero-American renewable energy forum, where Executive Chairman David Ruiz will present his vision.
The plan outlines a gross investment of €3.5 billion—up from €2.6 billion in the previous plan—with a clear priority on energy storage: €2.1 billion will go to battery energy storage systems (BESS), while €1.2 billion will be allocated to solar PV development.

2027 Targets: 2.8 GW of Solar and 13.8 GWh of Net Battery Capacity
The new plan aims to reach 2.8 GW of solar PV and 13.8 GWh of net battery storage capacity, more than tripling the 4.1 GWh storage target from the previous roadmap. In gross terms, including rotated assets, targets rise to 4.4 GW of solar and 18.8 GWh in batteries.
This strategic shift positions Grenergy among the most committed players in addressing the need for flexible backup and grid stability amid accelerating electrification.
One of the flagship hybridization projects is the Escuderos park in Spain, which will combine 200 MW of solar PV with 704 MWh of storage. Additionally, a standalone 600 MWh installation is planned in Oviedo, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026.
Greenbox: Grenergy’s European Battery Platform
A major highlight of the new strategy is Greenbox, Grenergy’s standalone battery platform for Europe. The unit already has a 35 GWh pipeline across six countries—Spain, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Romania.
The company’s 2027 objective is to reach 2.8 GW of solar and 13.8 GWh of battery storage in operation and under construction.
Grenergy at FES Iberia 2025
Grenergy will present these plans at FES Iberia 2025, which will bring together more than 400 energy leaders from Europe and Latin America on June 24 in Madrid. The company will take part in a discussion on the synergies between solar PV and storage, sharing its experience as one of the market leaders driving this transition.
At a time of grid saturation and record levels of renewable penetration, Grenergy stands out as a key player in BESS deployment, system flexibility, and cross-continental development, with an established presence in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico.
An exclusive panel at the event will also focus on Europe–Latin America synergies, addressing investment opportunities, collaboration models, and shared regulatory challenges.
