Following the recent and successful FES Iberia in Madrid, Spain, the Future Energy Summit (FES) — the international renewable energy professional gathering tour — is preparing to conclude its 2025 tour with key summits focused on Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Chile.
The next event will be held on August 6 with the webinar “Brazil Future Energy Virtual Summit 2025” (registration open), dedicated to one of the largest renewable markets in the world, which is awaiting essential developments to advance its energy transition through batteries, offshore wind projects, and more long-term auctions.
The FES Brazil virtual meeting will be crucial to understanding expectations surrounding the capacity reserve auction with batteries, called “LRCAP Storage,” concessions for renewable projects in the country’s territorial waters, and forecasts for the upcoming A-5 energy auction scheduled for August 22 of this year.
Peru will be the next in-person destination in Latin America and will mark the first time Future Energy Summit arrives in the country. On Monday, September 29, FES Peru promises a strong turnout of local and international stakeholders, just as it has in other regions.

This first edition of FES Peru will take place at a time when the generation and transmission infrastructure is undergoing major expansion, and the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes could lead to new tenders.
With exclusive spaces for debate and networking, the summit in Peru comes at a pivotal moment for renewables, driven by high expectations for the approval of the new electricity procurement regulation for Regulated Users, based on auction-based criteria.
The proposal includes the possibility of supply contracts for energy only and by hourly blocks, which could pave the way for more renewable contracts in Peru and mark a turning point for greater competition and efficiency.
Following FES Peru, the Future Energy Summit will travel to Colombia on October 21 and 22 in Bogotá, for an event that will bring together executives from generation, distribution, and transmission companies, as well as investors and renewable energy finance experts.
The fifth edition of FES Colombia will take place the same year the Ministry of Mines and Energy introduced a package of 19 measures to unlock renewable projects and speed up connection point requests. Simultaneously, the Energy and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG) initiated the process for a new expansion auction of the reliability charge, aimed at promoting the entry of new energy parks into the system between 2029 and 2030.

The 2025 FES tour will conclude on November 26 and 27 in Santiago, Chile, just days after the country’s presidential elections for the 2026–2030 term. The fourth edition of FES Chile will therefore be crucial in understanding the direction Chile’s energy transition will take in the coming years.
Key topics include the boom in battery systems, with over 14 GW of BESS projects in the qualification phase; the rising share of clean energy (over 70% of capacity comes from renewables); accelerated sectoral permitting; and the results of the 2025/01 supply auction for 1,680 GWh for regulated customers (award scheduled for October 28).

The country is also awaiting legislative debates around the electricity subsidy bill, the stalled “quota law” that gradually increases the renewable energy target, and the recently announced preliminary bill to accelerate decarbonization by 2035 or earlier. In addition, 12 sectoral regulations are expected to be processed in the coming months, including amendments to DS N°125/2017 (system coordination and operation) and DS N°88/2019 (small-scale generation).
These events will not only conclude FES’s 2025 tour but will also serve as platforms to discuss market opportunities, contracting schemes, and upcoming tenders. Moreover, they will allow public and private sector leaders in the region to assess the state of the energy transition and share exclusive sector announcements.
In addition to the conference halls where the main discussions take place, FES will offer exclusive networking areas, ideal for exploring synergies and new business opportunities among attending companies and institutions.
