Tomorrow marks the start of a new edition of the Future Energy Summit (FES) Colombia , the event that is consolidating its position as the most influential meeting point for the energy transition in Latin America. On October 21 and 22, the Hilton Hotel in Bogotá will host executives, authorities, and international experts who will discuss technological innovation, regulation, financing, and public policies aimed at decarbonization.
The debate comes at a key moment for the Colombian energy sector , as the country redefines its regulatory framework. CREG is currently working on regulations for remote self-generation, energy storage, and the redesign of the reliability charge , while preparing for new energy auctions .
In this context, the FES discussions will focus on how to reconcile decarbonization goals with price stability and the security of the electricity system , seeking an orderly, sustainable, and competitive transition.
The event is also taking place in a context of accelerated transformation in the Colombian electricity market . According to official data, the country reached an installed solar photovoltaic capacity of 2,030 MW in June 2025 , representing a 59% increase over the previous year.
However, only 1,299 MW are recognized in the Net Effective Capacity (NEC) due to the technical requirements of the system. Given this situation, the Ministry of Mines and Energy projects the incorporation of an additional 697 MW this year, distributed across 22 new renewable projects , with an investment exceeding $500 million . These figures not only reflect the dynamism of the sector, but also the urgency of advancing solutions for storage, regulation, and grid planning .
The event can also be followed live and free of charge on the Future Energy Summit YouTube channel , consolidating FES as the only event platform in the sector that broadcasts its events free of charge . Those who have not yet secured their ticket can register at live.eventtia.com/en/fes-colombia .
The continent’s leading technology and energy companies will participate in this fifth edition. In the solar energy sector, Sungrow, JA Solar, Trina Solar, Solis, Risen, Canadian Solar, ZNShine Solar, GCL, Antai Solar, Nordex, and Solax Power will be presenting their latest advances in photovoltaic plant efficiency and design.
In energy storage and solutions , CATL, Great Power, BLC Power Generation, Enermant, and Erco Energía will participate . In infrastructure, networks, and consulting , Nexans, Afry, DIPREM, Alurack, Chint, Ventus, and KAI Energy Capital will be present , with innovations aimed at strengthening the digitalization and sustainability of the system.
The meeting also has the support of Strategic Partners such as OLADE, ACOLGEN, FENOGE, ACOSOL, ADELAT, SER Colombia, and PROCOLOMBIA , which will support the discussions on policies, regional integration, and sustainable financing.
With an agenda combining conferences, high-level panels, and networking opportunities, FES Colombia 2025 is consolidating its position as the forum where knowledge, investment, and innovation come together to accelerate Latin America’s energy transformation . Tomorrow, Bogotá will be the epicenter of the region’s energy future.
