With less than a month to go before a new edition of the Future Energy Summit (FES) Argentina, a strong line-up of senior figures from across the regional energy ecosystem has already been confirmed. The event will be held on 4 and 5 March 2026 at the Hotel Emperador in Buenos Aires, convening leading energy companies, key public officials and regulatory bodies at a time of profound transformation for Argentina’s energy system.
This year’s FES will take place against the backdrop of Argentina’s move towards a more open electricity market. The reform includes a reduced role for CAMMESA as the sole offtaker and a renewed emphasis on the Term Market (Mercado a Término, MAT), opening up new opportunities for project financing and development through bilateral power purchase agreements (PPAs).
Among the confirmed speakers are senior executives from global companies with operations across Argentina and Latin America, including:
-
Martín Brandi, CEO of PCR
-
Marcos Donzino, Head of Sales South America at JA Solar
-
Camille Cruz, Director of Business Development at FlexGen
-
Miguel Covarrubias, LATAM Sales Director at Jinko Solar
-
Oscar Aira, Managing Director Europe & Latin America at GameChange Solar
The corporate agenda is further strengthened by the participation of Alejandro Garín Odriozola, Chief Operating Officer at Solar DQD; Gisele Battaiotto, Wind and Solar Projects Manager LATAM at Fortescue; Luiz Fernando Biagini, Head of Sales Southern Cone at Sungrow; Gustavo Marín Martínez, LATAM Branch Manager at APsystems; and Gonzalo Jurado, Technical Manager at TotalEnergies, among others.
Public sector stakeholders and provincial authorities will also play a prominent role across several discussion panels, addressing their responsibilities in advancing the energy transition, as well as market challenges and opportunities for wind power, solar PV and energy storage across the Southern Cone.
Confirmed public-sector participants include Juan Luchilo, General Manager of CAMMESA; Gustavo Báez, Head of Renewable Energy at CAMMESA; Mauricio Bejarano, Vice Minister of Energy of Paraguay; Claudio Puértolas, President of EPEC Córdoba; María Cecilia Mijich, Undersecretary for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of Santa Fe; and Claudio Damiano, Coordinator of New Technologies at the **Ente Nacional Regulador de la Electricidad (ENRE).
Over the two-day programme, strategic panels will focus on key topics such as the outlook for solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS), new business models for large energy players, technological innovation applied to renewable projects, and trends in generation, transmission and distribution. Discussions will also explore the technological leadership required to deliver and operate projects under Argentina’s emerging competitive market framework.
Particular attention will be given to an assessment of the results of the AlmaGBA tender, which awarded 713 MW of BESS capacity, and to the potential replication of this model in future tenders nationwide.
The first of these is expected to be known as AlmaSADI and would seek to contract between 500 and 600 MW of BESS at critical grid nodes across the country. The sector is closely watching its announcement, especially to understand how the new market model will be implemented—namely, whether CAMMESA will continue to act as offtaker or whether distribution companies will assume that role.
In parallel, the Argentine government has enabled a framework allowing private companies to build transmission infrastructure, with cost recovery guaranteed through regulated tariffs once projects are operational. This policy shift is expected to fuel in-depth debate on how new transmission schemes could accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and BESS across Argentina.
FES Argentina 2026 will also stand out for its high-level networking opportunities, including an exclusive VIP breakfast designed to foster dialogue between companies, investors and public authorities engaged in the region’s energy transition.
With hundreds of energy-sector representatives expected to attend, the event is positioning itself as a key platform for understanding Argentina’s evolving energy landscape and its integration into the broader regional market.
