Dos Grados afianza su liderazgo en Iberia con la adquisición de 105 MWp de dos parques solares en España

Dos Grados, the renewable asset investment company, has made a decisive move to strengthen its strategic position in Iberia.

With the acquisition of two photovoltaic solar parks in Tordesillas, totaling 105 MWp of installed capacity, the company marks a milestone in its expansion into the Spanish market.

This operation, carried out with an investment of €80 million and financed by Banco Santander, stands out as Dos Grados’ first “ready to build” project in Spain.

The impact of this acquisition extends beyond the energy sector to the economic sphere: the generated energy is expected to supply the annual consumption of approximately 58,847 homes, avoiding the emission of 790,882 tons of CO₂.

Moreover, the construction will create 460 direct and indirect jobs and contribute about €72 million to Spain’s GDP.

Investment Program and Diversification

Since its founding in 2019, Dos Grados has been known for its focus on sustainability and its ability to create a positive impact in local communities.

The Tordesillas acquisition is part of an ambitious €200 million investment program projected until 2025 or 2026, which includes expanding its asset portfolio in Spain and Portugal.

Currently, the company operates a plant in Fundão, Portugal, and Energia Estratégica España learned that its plan includes diversifying its business with the addition of electro-intensive assets starting in 2026.

This strategy reinforces its commitment to the energy transition and the search for synergies in the Iberian markets.

Challenges and Opportunities in the Renewable Sector

Dos Grados identifies two major challenges for the energy sector: the growth of electricity demand and the need to develop more efficient storage technologies.

In response, the company is working on a hybridization project for the Tordesillas solar plant with a nearby wind farm, optimizing generation capacity.

Additionally, battery systems are being implemented at its Fundão plant to strengthen resilience against market fluctuations, ensuring more efficient management of the clean energy generated.

Projections for 2025

With the start of the year marked by the acquisition in Tordesillas and the upcoming construction phase, 2025 promises to be a key period for Dos Grados. Among its priorities is advancing the ecological transition in Iberia, ensuring that its energy economy focuses more on renewable sources.

In a conversation with this outlet, company sources stated that Dos Grados’ vision is based on “another way of understanding investment,” integrating responsible social policies and working closely with the local communities where it develops its projects.

This not only strengthens its commitment to sustainability but also to the interests of its investors.

With a portfolio of 600 MW in various stages of development, Dos Grados continues to establish itself as a leading player in the Iberian renewable sector, guided by innovation, social responsibility, and energy efficiency.
