The fourth edition of the International Congress of the Industry for the Energy Transition (CITE25) is set to take place on 23 October at Baluarte Conference Centre in Pamplona. This biennial event will bring together leading national and international figures from the wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen sectors.
Organised by Enercluster with the special collaboration of the Government of Navarra, CITE25 is sponsored by Acciona Energía, Nordex Group and Ingeteam as TERApartners; Grupo Enhol, Laulagun Bearings, Nabrawind, Repsol and Sakana Group as GIGApartners; and a wide range of MEGApartners, including ARENA, ARPA Abogados Consultores, Array, Industrial Barranquesa, Beeplanet, EDP Renewables, EOSOL, IED, Grupo Inerzia, Leadernet, Renercycle, Ríos Renovables, Statkraft, Urgon and Energyloop.
“We are at a pivotal moment in the energy transition. CITE25 will tackle urgent topics such as the integration of renewables into the electricity grid, as well as key challenges facing the European renewable energy industry,” said Iker Chasco, Managing Director of Enercluster.
Industry Leaders and Global Challenges in the Spotlight
CITE25 aims to address the significant challenges facing the renewable energy sector today, including evolving regulation, technological innovation, and Europe’s role in a complex geopolitical context. Chasco highlighted pressing issues such as energy price cannibalisation, curtailment, supply chain profitability, and grid stability – topics made even more relevant in light of recent blackouts.
“Europe has set ambitious targets for renewable deployment, but now the real challenges begin,” Chasco noted, citing global instability, tariffs, and the narrowing of European markets as critical concerns.
At the same time, he pointed out the considerable opportunities ahead: “The renewable energy industry in Navarra is built on quality, excellence and innovation. We must seize opportunities in mature markets such as wind and solar, as well as in emerging sectors like storage, green hydrogen and circularity.”
Chasco concluded that this fourth edition of CITE will offer “a stronger focus on European renewable industry players than any other similar congress on the continent.”
A Strategic Commitment to Clean Industry
Navarre’s Minister for Industry and for the Ecological and Digital Business Transition, Mikel Irujo Amezaga, underscored the regional government’s firm support for CITE25, noting that renewables now represent the third most important industry in the region, after automotive and agri-food.
With more than 110 companies in its industrial network, the renewable energy sector accounts for 10% of regional industrial employment and €4.5 billion in turnover – around 5% of regional GDP.
“Navarra is firmly committed to achieving energy sovereignty. We must continue to push forward with clean energy sources that support a sustainable community and planet,” said Irujo. He welcomed recent steps by the European Commission – such as the inclusion of ‘local content’ requirements in the Clean Industry Strategy – but stressed the need for urgent action. “Together with Enercluster, we’re building a European coalition to push for immediate institutional measures to protect jobs and the industrial fabric of our regions.”
An Unprecedented Line-Up of International Speakers
CITE25 Director Kiko Maza highlighted the exceptional calibre of this year’s speakers, with confirmed participation from some of the most influential figures in the sector. These include:
-
Arantza Ezpeleta, CEO of Acciona Energía
-
João Costeira, CEO of Repsol Renovables
-
José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex
-
Adolfo Rebollo, CEO of Ingeteam
-
Bertrand Lechacheux, CEO of Holosolis (developer of a new French gigafactory for PV panels)
-
Hervé Amossé, Executive Vice President at SAFT
-
Michael Larsen, CEO of SM Industries (a Danish manufacturer of wind turbine towers)
This year’s agenda will feature high-level CEO panels on wind power, the European supply chain and project development. A morning session will host an international panel of experts, followed by thematic roundtables in the afternoon covering key sector topics such as O&M, energy storage, grid integration, and green hydrogen.
With media partners including Navarra Capital, Diario de Noticias and Energética, and content partners such as AEPIBAL, AEE and AEMER, CITE25 is already shaping up to surpass previous editions. Organisers anticipate more than 400 attendees and over 45 international experts, nearly half of whom are CEOs, making it the most ambitious edition to date.
A Diverse Audience, A European Platform
Maza emphasised the diverse target audience, which ranges from wind, solar, storage and hydrogen professionals, to renewable project developers, circular economy experts, financial institutions, regulators, academics, media, influencers and opinion leaders.
“We’re proud to hold this event in Navarra – there’s no other congress in Spain, or perhaps even in Europe, that brings together such a broad array of key players from the renewable industry,” Maza stated.
Tickets for CITE25 are now available at an early bird rate until August via the official website: www.congresocite.com.
