Future Energy Summit (FES), the series of events for renewable energy professionals, will arrive in Peru on 29 September and promises a major turnout from both the local and international energy sectors.
More than 500 stakeholders are expected to gather, including executives from generation, distribution, and transmission companies, as well as investors and renewable energy financing experts.
Among the first confirmed attendees are Marco Fragale, CEO of Orygen, and Walter Sciutto, CEO of Pluz Energía Perú – two key companies in the Peruvian electricity market.
Specifically, the executives will take part in the panel entitled “The Strategic Vision of Major Players to Drive Peru’s Energy Transition” alongside peers from other companies in the sector.
The participation of executives and companies of this profile is highly significant. They lead businesses in the Peruvian electricity market and hold important projects in their portfolios for the coming years.
Orygen has over 2.3 GW of installed capacity, standing out as the leading generator of wind and solar energy in Peru. And the company is pushing further, advancing a portfolio that exceeds 10 GW of renewables across the country.
Pluz Energía Perú’s investment plans for 2025–2029 include more than five transmission infrastructure projects, including substations and lines connecting strategic areas for the deployment of new projects.
This first edition of FES Peru will take place in a context where the generation and transmission infrastructure park is undergoing major expansion, and legislative and regulatory changes are expected to trigger new tenders.
Currently, installed wind and solar capacity in the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) reaches 1,503.1 MW from plants in operation. However, the horizon for new business is vast.
The total for non-conventional renewable developments stands at 22,995.7 MW, distributed across 103 projects with approved Pre-Operational Studies (EPOs); of these, 15 projects amounting to 2.9 GW have already been granted concessions and are on track to boost generation in Peru.
When will they come online? Who will purchase the energy? Is the electrical infrastructure ready for this volume of projects? These are some of the questions that will be addressed at FES Peru.
The agenda for 29 September will feature morning and afternoon sessions with discussion panels, networking spaces, and key presentations on the impact of new regulations on the sector’s competitiveness.
One of the central topics to be discussed at FES Peru is the possibility for generators to sign energy supply contracts directly with large users without the requirement of firm capacity – a fundamental change introduced with the amendment to Law 28.832.
In addition, the public tender model will be revamped with the introduction of hourly blocks. This approach will allow for better segmentation of demand and greater efficiency in contract allocation, facilitating the integration of renewables into the electricity system.
At the event, business leaders and representatives of international organisations will debate the opportunities arising from the market opening, new contracting frameworks, and upcoming tenders.
Tickets for FES Peru are available now. Take advantage of early bird pricing. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend and be part of the leading event in the sector.
