Three major green hydrogen projects led by French firms are moving forward in the United Kingdom, backed by public funding and totalling over 250 MW of electrolysis capacity. With active roles in the Tees, Wallsend and Fawley initiatives, companies like Lhyfe, EDF, Hynamics and Hy24 are strengthening their global presence and shaping the future of renewable hydrogen deployment in Europe.
A total of 40 battery and pumped storage projects have advanced through authorisations over the past three years. With solar and wind hybridisations leading the way and several strategic stand-alone schemes, companies such as Enel Green Power, Iberdrola, OPDEnergy, Statkraft and Grenergy stand out as key players.
