France awards 948 MW in its sixth onshore solar auction: price and capacity analysis

The French government awarded 948 MW across 120 projects in the sixth PPE2 photovoltaic auction, with NEOEN leading with 165 MW awarded, followed by Urbasolar and TotalEnergies. The average price was €79.28/MWh, a reduction of €2.6/MWh compared to the previous round. Jérémy Simon, Deputy General Delegate of SER, attributes the price drop to the increased supply of solar modules and their declining costs.
