“Spain positions itself as a leader in the development of green hydrogen in Europe, with more than €2.65 billion in public aid and a projected total investment of €36.37 billion by 2030.
National programs such as Pioneros, Cadena de Valor and Clústeres, or Hydrogen Valleys, backed by European NextGenerationEU funds, are driving strategic projects led by companies like Repsol, Cepsa, and Enagás, which are developing innovative ecosystems like the 11 hydrogen valleys and the H2Med.”
This is how Spain’s new Hydrogen ChatGPT responds to the question, “How would you describe the current situation in the country?”
While it is a brief response, the information it contains is extremely comprehensive and will continue to grow. This new AI chatbot has been specifically designed to address technical and regulatory concerns.
This tool, created by teacher and renewable hydrogen specialist Javier Robledo, stands out for being trained with verified data on projects, subsidies, and regulations related to the sector in Spain.
In an interview with Strategic Energy Europe, he explains: “It doesn’t just answer general questions, but integrates all official information, including key resolutions such as those from programs 3 and 4 of the IDAE value chain, pioneering initiatives, and European projects like the IPCEIs and Innovation Fund.”
Additionally, it can search for real-time information through Google, further enhancing its ability to respond.
The ideologue states: “At a time when chatbots are booming, we saw the need to create one focused on a crucial topic like renewable hydrogen, gathering reliable data in one place.”
A Resource for Professionals and Beyond
The system is particularly useful for learning more about the plans of companies such as Iberdrola, Repsol, Moeve (formerly Cepsa), Enagás, Naturgy, Endesa, and EDP, which lead investment projects in the field of renewable hydrogen.
By using this tool, users can quickly access details on available subsidy calls, such as the Hydrogen European Bank (BEH) auctions, or inquire about strategic ecosystems like CNH2, AEH2, the H2MED Corridor, and the MIBGAS index.
While the application is primarily designed for experts and companies in the renewable sector, the designer ensures that the tool is accessible to any interested user.
“The goal is to democratize information, provide reliable and verified access that can be useful for both researchers and citizens who wish to understand the green hydrogen landscape,” says Robledo.
With this initiative, the aim is to consolidate a unique resource that centralizes and organizes fragmented information, allowing quick access to quality data.
From a business perspective, this could expedite decision-making and planning processes, as it “facilitates the analysis of the state of all projects in Spain,” as the specialist adds.
