Quantum America will hold its 23rd International Seminar on Public Utilities Regulation and Tariff Setting from 13 to 17 April 2026 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, a strategic city located on the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, and globally recognised for the Iguazu Falls, one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
The event will take place at the JL Hotel by Bourbon and is expected to gather executives, technical specialists and public officials from the energy and utilities sectors across Latin America. The seminar combines advanced technical training, regional exchange and high-level networking in an environment designed to deliver a comprehensive professional experience.
Over five days, participants will take part in an immersive programme focused on the main current challenges in regulatory frameworks, tariff design and the regional energy transition, integrating theory, practical case studies and comparative analysis.
“Being able to learn and network in the setting of one of the world’s natural wonders is part of the seminar’s concept. It is a space to exchange knowledge, build professional connections and enjoy a truly immersive experience,” said Mariana Galeotti, general coordinator of the event, in an interview with Energía Estratégica.
According to the organisers, the choice of Foz do Iguaçu reflects a holistic vision: a city with strong infrastructure and regional connectivity, combined with a natural environment that fosters dialogue and relationship-building among professionals from different countries.
With more than 20 years of experience in executive education, Quantum America has organised 22 international seminars to date, with over 1,500 participants from across Latin America, in addition to numerous in-company training programmes throughout the region.
“Alongside our specialised consultancy services in regulation and tariff calculation, we place strong emphasis on knowledge transfer, training professionals and technical teams who are now directly involved in regulatory and tariff-setting processes,” Galeotti added.
The 2026 seminar will feature 44 presentations delivered in parallel sessions, led by speakers with over 20 years of experience in consultancy and participation in international conferences.
The academic programme is structured around three core thematic pillars:
-
Theoretical Foundations
-
Applied Theory
-
State of the Art and Emerging Trends
One of the event’s key differentiators is its modular format, which allows each participant to build a personalised agenda according to their sector of interest—Electricity, Natural Gas, or Water and Sanitation—and the desired level of depth.
This structure offers an immersion equivalent to a 30-hour executive programme, focused on regulation, tariff methodologies, regional trends and practical solutions adapted to the Latin American context.
“We need professionals who can act as champions of change. Training those working within regulated companies and public bodies is essential,” said Fernando Damonte, general manager of Quantum America. “Equally important is strengthening consumer advocacy organisations, ensuring they contribute technical expertise to regulatory processes and support the development of an empowered, informed consumer.”
Damonte also highlighted that participants will gain cross-regional insight into best practices, trends and solutions applied in Latin America and globally, enabling them to implement these lessons in their own professional environments.
“This event is ideal for professionals seeking to stay up to date with the latest developments in public utilities regulation and to gain in-depth knowledge of the sector’s most critical issues,” he concluded.
The seminar is aimed at:
-
Directors, managers and professionals from electricity, natural gas, water and sanitation companies
-
Officials and technical teams from regulatory authorities
-
Professionals involved in the regulator–company–consumer relationship, including lawyers, economists, engineers, accountants and administrators
