Future Energy Summit (FES) has confirmed its return to Argentina in 2026 with its third national edition. The event will take place on 4–5 March in the city of Buenos Aires, at a pivotal moment for the Argentine power sector, which is undergoing structural changes that are redefining pricing dynamics, contractual frameworks and electricity supply mechanisms.
FES Argentina 2026 builds on the solid track record of previous editions and, in particular, on the strong institutional backing achieved at FES Argentina 2025, where more than 500 energy sector leaders gathered over two days.
Hundreds of CEOs from renewable energy companies, national and provincial authorities, technology providers and representatives of financial institutions took part in high-level strategic debates, executive networking sessions and live broadcasts, positioning the event as one of the most relevant energy forums in Latin America.
The 2025 edition was supported by a broad ecosystem of leading companies across the energy value chain. Key sponsors included Huawei as Platinum Partner; JA Solar, Secco and Seraphim as Diamond Partners; and Trina Solar, Goldwind and Sungrow as Gold Partners, alongside numerous strategic companies reflecting the sector’s technological, financial and industrial diversity.
This strong corporate backing reinforced FES’s role as a platform where market trends are analysed and business relationships are forged, helping to drive new energy investment projects.
Against this backdrop, FES Argentina 2026 will take place amid a major restructuring of Argentina’s Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM), as the national government advances a new regulatory framework redefining the rules for power generation and commercialisation. The objective is to move away from a centralised, administratively managed model towards one based on real price signals, increased competition and direct contracting between market participants.
This redesign introduces significant changes to the way the electricity system is supplied. The new regulatory framework grants a central operational role to the Forward Market (Mercado a Término, MAT), which becomes a key instrument in the transition towards a more competitive market structure.
Once implemented, distribution companies operating within the MEM will be required to cover at least 75% of their seasonal demand through bilateral contracts, effectively shifting electricity purchasing and selling decisions to the market.
In this context, renewable energy technologies gain strategic relevance, both due to their cost competitiveness and their ability to integrate into long-term contracting schemes—such as power purchase agreements (PPAs)—that provide greater price certainty and system stability.
The agenda of FES Argentina 2026 will be designed to address these challenges from a technical and strategic perspective. Discussions will cover regulatory developments, technological innovation, project finance and the long-term outlook of the power sector, with the participation of senior government officials and C-level executives from leading companies.
Looking ahead to the 2026 edition, FES has already secured the support of Jinko Solar, Goldwind, GameChange, FMO and COARCO as confirmed partners, signalling a high level of corporate engagement.
As in previous editions, the event will also stand out for its dedicated networking spaces, where hundreds of company representatives, project developers and financial institutions come together to advance agreements that support the energy transition in Argentina and across the wider region.
Amid a profound redefinition of the electricity system, Future Energy Summit Argentina 2026 is shaping up as a strategic platform to understand the new market landscape and anticipate the trends that will define Argentina’s energy sector in the coming years.
