During September 2025, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) a set of resolutions that mark a new boost for renewable energy projects in Spain. The authorisations cover wind and solar hybridisation, the incorporation of storage in existing plants and declarations of public utility.
Naturgy made several advances in Guadalajara, Navarra and Ciudad Real. The company received favourable environmental reports for the hybrid solar plants Loma Gorda (49.8 MW) and San Gil, both linked to existing wind farms in Guadalajara. It also obtained authorisation for the FV El Valle project (19.1 MW) in Navarra and the Malagón II hybridisation in Ciudad Real.
For its part, Iberdrola strengthened its battery storage strategy. It obtained a favourable environmental report for the BAT San Antonio project in Cáceres, hybridised with a solar plant, and received administrative authorisation for the BESS Andévalo (26.36 MW) in Huelva, which will be integrated with the FV Andévalo solar park (42.56 MW). It also received a positive resolution for the Capiruza I-II solar hybridisation in Aragón.
In the large-scale solar segment, Grupo Cobra obtained the declaration of public utility for the evacuation line of La Lora I/II (95.55 MW) in Burgos. Likewise, OPDEnergy received the same authorisation for its Los Hormigueros plant (50.1 MW) in Valladolid.
Wind development also registered new decisions. Aspiravi received a negative environmental impact declaration for the Corus wind farm (66 MW) in Cantabria.
Meanwhile, ABEI Energy received a favourable resolution for the Los Vientos I solar plant (54.6 MW) in Zaragoza, and Boreas Energy obtained a positive environmental report for the BESS Iglesias storage system (30 MW), hybridised with a 70.4 MW wind farm in Burgos.
Finally, Orka Energía advanced with the repowering of the Boyal I and II wind farms (5 MW each) in Zaragoza and Navarra.
